Point Guard Mega Showdown

Follow the Leader
These six young point guards have been considered players who can instantly make a franchise relevant. If they were all available (and it seems most of them have been on the market), who would you pick to be the face of your team for the next 5-10 years?
The two players with the most votes will face off next week for PG supremacy.
Chris Paul: 15.9 PPG, 4.1 RPG, 9.8 APG
- This perennial MVP candidate is expected to carry the curse of being a Clipper on his knees. He’s expected to lead the underdog LA team to new heights. Lob City.
- Just 26 years old, but his peak was 22-23.
- Sky-high assist totals and few turnovers despite weak supporting casts.
Deron Williams: 20.1 PPG, 4 RPG, 10.3 APG
- A bit of a modern day Isiah Thomas, Deron is intense on and off the court. He also appears to already be acting as a GM in New Jersey.
- Impressive scoring and assist numbers, but mediocre rebound and turnover rates.
- Showed his wrist has healed by scoring a boat load in Turkey. His team there retired his number after 15 games.
Derrick Rose: 25 PPG, 4.1 RPG, 7.7 APG
- Your reigning MVP, a 23 year old PG who attacks the basket and shoots often.
- Greatly improved his defense and three point shooting year.
- Committed himself to improving his basketball IQ this offseason.
- Didn’t make enough shots in the playoffs when pressure increased.
John Wall: 16.4 PPG, 4.6 RPG, 8.3 APG
- Completed a successful rookie campaign as the best player from the 2010 draft.
- Struggled with right knee tendinitis.
- Tall, explosive, and with tons of potential.
Rajon Rondo: 10.6 PPG, 4.4 RPG, 11.2 APG
- Perhaps the finest brick mason of any PG in years.
- Limits his low percentage shots.
- Facilitates the aging Celtics offense, so there aren’t many shots for him anyway.
- His long arms and fast feet help him smother his assignments.
Russell Westbrook: 21.9 PPG, 4.6 RPG, 8.2 APG
- Very much like Derrick Rose, but a bit less polished.
- He needs to work on his jump shot and his defense.
- Sets up the offense more, and a better passer than Rose.
- Drives to the basket often, and is fouled at the highest rate of this group.
- Had a very weak postseason with turnovers and missed shots galore.
Do you go for awards, potential, stats, leadership, defense, or a little bit of each? Is there a clear #1 choice?

Westbrook is not a better passer than Rose, he just benefits from having more efficient teammates Rose>Everything
